Come and check out the eccentric Emilie Autumn for one night at The New Parish in the San Francisco area. Watch live as she performs many of her edgy pop hits.
Emilie Autumn grew up in beautiful Malibu, California as a free spirit who played violin by the time she was 4-years-old and made her musical debut as a solo violinist only four years later. The rest of her young life was spent touring and visiting concert halls in Europe and North America. Autumn never minded touring, as she hated attending school at a young age; she would eventually accept a scholarship to the prestigious Indiana University music program, but grow disinterested and leave after a short period of time.
Emilie Autumn performances are a unique mixture of jazz, electronic sounds, and violin. Her vocal work has been likened to Kate Bush, The Creatures, and Tori Amos and Autumn says her songwriting is influenced by a wide range of literature, evidenced by her 2006 album, Opheliac (inspired by Shakespeare’s character Ophelia from Hamlet).
In 2012, Autumn released Fight Like a Girl, perhaps her most powerful and truthful statement as an artist; the eponymous single, along with songs “If I Burn” and “Take the Pill,” saw commercial and critical success.
