Rome New Year's Parade Description

On New Year’s Day in Rome, tens of thousands of Romans and visitors take part in the annual New Year’s Day Parade. Rome’s New Year's Day Parade travels along the historic Via della Conciliazione before ending up in St. Peter’s Square.

At Rome’s New Year's Day Parade, spectators step in time to the music as they cheer for the marching bands. Once the parade winds down in St. Peter’s Square, revelers and the faithful unite for the Pope’s traditional New Year’s Day blessing.

Rome’s New Year's Day Parade is free and all ages are welcome to take part in this Roman tradition. After celebrating the New Year with age-old Roman customs, pick up some energy at the cafés around Vatican City.

Can anyone tell me the times for the parade and the papal blessing? My hotel called the Vatican and they said there is no parade this year... I think they are mistaken. And they said the Papal Blessing is at 10:00am whereas another site says it is at noon. Help!
