Jun 13, 2012 —  The best thing about Rome is hanging out in the scenic, historic piazzas like Campo de’ Fiori where all the young people gather nightly to chat, share a bottle of wine, and simply enjoy the company and the surroundings.

The city in general has a surprisingly laid-back feel, which makes it the perfect place to wander aimlessly and get lost in the ancient architecture, winding cobblestone streets, and quaint cafés of all the different neighborhoods.

And there is no better place to take an afternoon break than at Villa Borghese, a beautiful park with a museum, a lake, and acres of perfectly manicured gardens.

The leisurely pace of the people and the city is also evident during aperitivo in the evening, though there are plenty of late-night bars and cafés, especially in Trastevere, that offer more upbeat party options.
