Party Earth Mood Review

The Scene

Popular with a young clubbing crowd, Mood is a loud, dynamic club with a simple décor and a focus on hip-hop music, style, and dancing.

Centro, Rome –

Popular with a young clubbing crowd, Mood is a loud, dynamic club with a simple décor and a focus on hip-hop music, style, and dancing.

Once past the burly bouncers, energetic patrons enter a chic white foyer and descend the stairs into a long open room that features glass chandeliers, strobe lights, white walls, and a few tables and sofas that provide a place to take a break from the heated action.

Two larger areas occupy either end of the room, where partiers groove to deafening hip-hop and R&B, making conversation tricky.

Although most of the clientele is part of the hip-hop crowd, Mood also attracts a broader set of clubbers looking to dance into the night.

What the diverse patrons share, however, is a love of hip-hop fashion and music – a common interest perfectly suited to Mood, where the vibe is all about dancing and enjoying the tunes.

Tip from Lucas:

The bar here is tiny and the service can be incredibly slow. If you don’t feel like waiting in the long lines, order more than one drink at a time.

Mackenzie Garrity Apr 12, 2013 3.0 stars Hit the Dance Floor on a Budget! Going clubbing in Rome can be difficult for students and young travelers, most places have such an expensive cover charge! But the free entrance and relaxed dress code make Mood a haven for anyone going dancing on a budget! I've spent a number of great nights at Mood, usually with a group of friends after hitting the bars. The best way to enjoy the club is definitely in a group, especially if you are worried about Mood's history of being a hang out for creepers. Also, don't miss the underground grotto area! Much less crowded than the main dance floor with better ambience.
Tasha Giuda Apr 1, 2013 2.0 stars Foreign Females: Beware! Mood seemed like a reasonable club option during my study abroad in Rome, so some friends and I ventured there during a night out. I was truly hoping it might ease the separation anxiety I was having from the amazing clubs near school in Miami, but it was a big disappointment! The service was so-so, the obnoxiously loud techno music was average at best and the amount of Italian creepers preying on anything resembling an American female was horrifying!!! At one point Mood was closed for a significant amount of time, but apparently re-opened as it's still listed on this site. Should you still choose to go, make sure you're with a trustworthy group of friends!
leslie conner Feb 27, 2013 3.0 stars You'll like it More than You Think We heard nothing but bad things about this club before we were invited to their all you can drink for two hours, 15 euro special. Why we even decided to take a chance on it is a mystery but I'll count my blessings that we did. This club was a total trip! We got in around 12am and were immediately greeted by some old school 90's hip hop coming from the DJ booth. Fast-forward an hour and a few vodka lemons later, and the place was absolutely buzzing. We spent a good three hours dancing our asses off in the main room to some classic hits and R&B tracks that had the entire club singing along. I'd suggest bringing a group along for the ride if you want to avoid the over eager crowd of local guys or just to make belting out Biggie a bit more fun. Call it a fluke night, but Mood deserves a lot more credit than it gets. If you want a break from the mind numbing repetition of house music, but don't feel like having a pub night, Mood is the perfect alternative.
Lauren Vincent Feb 12, 2013 1.0 stars Not worth it You'll pretty much be fighting off being groped the entire night. Which happens a lot in Rome, but is far worse here, and there is really nothing great about the place to justify putting up with that. The drinks are expensive and not that strong. It's dark and loud and clubby, and there's a dance floor, but that's where you're going to get grabbed so you might as well avoid it. I honestly just never had a great time here. I'm pretty sure they didn't have a cover which is probably why we went there... but if there is one do not pay it, just go somewhere else. If there is not a cover, you should probably still not go. Pretty much anywhere is more fun than this place.
Rachel Schwartz Nov 30, 2012 2.0 stars ODD First club i ever went to in Italy. I was with a bunch of locals and they said that it was just okay but there wasn't much else to do in the area at that time. So we decided to go inside and check it out. When we were inside we noticed that the crowd was not too great. There were very weird people and I didn't even bother getting a drink. Maybe I just came here on the wrong night or it just wasnt for me. There are many other clubs in Rome that are worth going to over Mood.
