The best part about this job was that I got to discover some wonderful new places in a city I thought I knew inside and out! When I came back to Florence later with a friend, I knew exactly where to take her, and I could be sure that we weren’t missing out on anything.
One of the best nights I had on the job was when I went to Fiesole to investigate their famous sunsets. My boyfriend and I prepared by buying a bottle of prosecco, and we rode up on his scooter, planning to go to a restaurant and watch the sunset from a terrace. However, the restaurants with the best views were a bit expensive, so we ended up just sitting on a hillside, drinking the prosecco from plastic cups as the sun went down, then riding back down to go to a pizzeria on the outskirts of town. One of the most romantic dates I’ve ever had, and one of the cheapest!
I’m somewhat of a cross between Adriana and Emma. Like Adriana, I love to dress up and party, but like Emma, I believe in really getting to know the people and cultures of the places I visit, and I enjoy going on expeditions a bit off the beaten path.
My perfect day in Florence begins with a perfect Italian cappuccino, of course, followed by a hike in the nearby hills to San Miniato Sul Monte. For lunch I would stop by Salumeria Verdi, and in the afternoon I would go by the Accademia or the Boboli Gardens. I would start the evening with an aperitivo at Le Pavoniere or Mamma Art Café. Later, I would head to Central Park for a night of dancing!
