What is your favorite part of the job?
My favorite part of the job was discovering some places that I’d never been before. I’ve lived in Munich for a whole year now, and have a pretty set routine, so this was a great excuse to check out a few places that I’d been meaning to go to for a while, and just hadn’t gotten around to yet. I’ve found a few spots that I plan to work into my weekly rotation.
Short Story/Anecdote from your time on the job:
My favorite night of shooting photos was at
Cohibar City. I made sure to go on a Saturday since I know that’s when it’s at its best. This bar is great, and in my opinion it has both the best cocktails and the best music in town. Since it’s typical for girls to dance on the bar there, I knew it wouldn’t be a problem for me to climb up to take a few pictures from a bird’s-eye view. However, once up there, the bartenders took control of my camera and started snapping pics of me dancing instead! That’s my favorite thing about that bar – anything goes. This assignment was also a great opportunity to talk to all of the bar staff and learn more about some of my favorite venues.
Which Party Earth reviewer(s) do you resemble most and why?
I think I have most in common with
Emma because she seems to have varied tastes in nightlife. I need a lot of variety. You are as likely to find me dancing the night away in whatever the hottest new club is as you are to find me singing karaoke in an Irish pub. There are a few spots that I go to pretty often, but I try to change it up at least once a week.
What is your perfect day in Munich? What are you doing and where are you going from morning to night?
The perfect Munich day for me would be a day spent in the Hacker Pschorr tent during
Oktoberfest…but for the other eleven months, it would start with a late breakfast at the Viktualienmarkt, followed by a stroll through the
Englischer Garten and a beer at the
Seehaus Biergarten (or Christmas markets if it were winter). Then I might do some shopping in
Schwabing, my favorite neighborhood, followed by dinner at
Nektar and drinks at
Cohibar City. I’d finish the night partying at 089 and watching the sun rise as I walk home.
