What is your favorite part of the job?

Working for Party Earth has totally refreshed my outlook on the DC nightlife scene, as I’ve gotten the chance to review places I never knew or heard about. Now you could even say I’m a regular at some of those venues. I also love that I’ve made some great nightlife contacts along the way.

Short Story/Anecdote from your time on the job:

Once while on the job, I went to a really exclusive lounge that took me about half an hour to locate (back alley, cab drivers were clueless about it). When I got to the door, the girl at the desk told me the few words no girl wants to hear when standing outside a club in painful heels – “I don’t see your name on the list.” And at that club there is no getting in if your name isn’t on the list. Needless to say, I snatched out my cell phone and pretended to “make some calls,” but to add insult to injury, my contact wasn’t available. Eventually, a friend of mine appeared outside randomly, and while he was trying to talk to the girl at the front desk to get me in, he spotted the list, leaned over and said, “Wait… her name is on the list. It’s right there.” Turns out there was a mix up with the lists, but the manager made up for it by treating my friend and me to some fabulous (and strong) cocktails behind the bar, and VIP treatment for the night! By the end of it all I had forgotten all about the door issue – and the pain from those killer heels.

Which Party Earth reviewer(s) do you resemble most and why?

I’m a mix of Adriana and Lucas. I love kicking it in my jeans and flip-flops at loud rowdy bars where there are lots of people and beer pong (just graduated from college after all!), but I also really enjoy cocktail sipping and celeb watching with the girls at exclusive lounges.

What is your perfect day in Washington, DC? What are you doing and where are you going from morning to night?

I’d start with a late lunch/early dinner at La Madeleine in Georgetown (great little French café) and shop a little bit while I’m there, followed by a rooftop Happy Hour at a nice lounge. I love discovering new Happy Hour spots with my friends, meeting new people, and talking to bartenders so I can find out where the best specials are (who better to know than a bartender?). Then I’d probably walk around the city for a while with friends, end up at another Happy Hour, find a Chipotle, then finish the night off by going to one of my top 4 venues – at which time I would be ready to party the night away.
