Name

Fred Lidskog

What is your favorite part of the job?

The appreciative applause you receive from employees and patrons alike whenever you swagger into a venue.

Short Story/Anecdote from your time on the job:

Scouting out the VIP room at Trousdale on a Monday night. Samantha Ronson on the decks. Out of the blue, Stephen Dorff decides to throw a full drink in my face. All because I took an uninvited seat on his date’s lap! Come on, Stephen, that move is so 2008.

Which Party Earth reviewer(s) do you resemble most and why?

“Experimental” Emma – up for anything, tickled pink by kitschy theme nights, firm believer in the “wraparound universe” philosophy of nightlife – that is, certain places and activities can be so exceedingly uncool that it somehow makes them cool.

What is your perfect day in Los Angeles? What are you doing and where are you going from morning to night?

Wake up early to surf the Venice breakwater, followed by brunch on the back patio at Gjelina. Spend the afternoon in the sunny beer garden at On The Waterfront Café, bring a picnic basket and a couple of wine bottles to a show at the Hollywood Bowl, finish up the evening at a Hollywood lounge like Hemingway’s. If there’s any fuel left in the tank, maybe head to the wonderfully offbeat Dinner House M in Echo Park for afterhours.
