Located in the Champs-Élysées' chic gardens in central Paris, Théâtre Marigny dates back to 1894.
The rotunda is divided into two performance spaces. Grande Salle is the main one, a luxurious red-and-ivory theater with two balconies and orchestra seating for a total capacity of 1,000. Past performances at Théâtre Marigny include Amadeus featuring Roman Polanski, Michel Berger's Starmania, Cyrano de Bergerac, and Molière's Le Misanthrope.
The smaller Salle Popesco, a.k.a. Petit Marigny, has room for 300 spectators on one balcony level and in orchestra seating. Past theatrical representations produced here include Sartre's Huis Clos and Romain Gary's La Vie Devant Soi as well as the French version of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
Théâtre Marigny has also hosted television shows as well as several Molière ceremonies (France's version of the Tony Awards).
