A visit to Cuba Compagnie may start off like a low-key day on a tropical beach, but it never ends that way!

With an unpretentious vibe and assorted crowd to match, the colorful venue opens early for those looking for budget-friendly breakfasts near the famed Bastille. The book-style menu caters to anyone looking to add some spice to their French diet, and features stories, songs, and anecdotes of Cuba amid the descriptions of picadillo and cod fritters.

Mojitos are the main cocktail of choice – especially during €15 mojito tastings on Tuesdays from 9 to 10pm – and soon after the workday ends, the bar fills with happy groups slinging Happy Hour champagne and exotic mixed drinks beneath the framed pictures of Havana and portraits of Hemingway that dot the walls.

DJs turn up the volume in the evenings to accommodate the crowd, as stylish expats and boisterous birthday girls drop their ceviches and dance wherever there’s room.

A quieter atmosphere usually prevails in the upstairs lounge, where old and newly formed dance partners can engage in spicy conversation as their stomachs settle from all that spicy food.

Bursting with color and Latin rhythms, Cuba Compagnie is an ideal spot to kick off the night – and equally great to kick off one’s shoes and dance till closing.
