Formerly a classic theater, Le Bataclan is now a small, intimate venue that books many up-and-coming bands and has been known to host the likes of Prince and other renowned performers.

A general admission ticket provides access to the ground floor area right in front of the stage, which puts patrons within easy reach of both the musicians and the relatively quieter bar in the back.

For a secured seat with an elevated, panoramic view of the stage, however, it’s best to get tickets for the wraparound balcony.

And if the live music isn’t enough, on the occasional weekend, Le Bataclan transforms into a funky techno club with a largely gay scene.

Tip from Jonah:

Bataclan is an excellent venue, but it’s best to go in the winter – there is no air conditioning and the large crowds can make the place pretty hot.

Average rating:
a small place for bands that are not that popular

I went to Bataclan to see Framing Hanley and Good Charlotte, it is a small place for bands that are not that popular, but the shows are pretty good and I got the chance to meet some of the band members. Inside there's this theater style that it's nice to see, but it gets crowded and hot pretty easily, which was a good thing for me because I went there in February and it was freezing outside. It's well located you have subway stations nearby and also a café just next door.
