Once known as one of Pigalle's most famous cabarets, this small concert venue, with a capacity for 100, is known today among Parisians for its unusual concerts. La Boule Noire's raison d'être: is to expose the public to budding talents.
Accordingly, musical programming features youthful sounds of rock, pop, French variety, and many other genres. Past concerts at La Boule Noire include Interpol, Metallica, The Kills, Cat Power, and The Dresden Dolls.
La Boule Noire – the logo of which is a black ball modeled after a Magic 8 Ball – is a punky, festive spot, great for chatting up performers after their shows. Like its bands, La Boule Noire's décor is eclectic with Art Deco chandeliers and murals of singers painted in the 1970s.
