Techno Parade is an international event dedicated to celebrating the electronic dance music (EDM) movement. Every September, hundreds of thousands of people flood the streets of Paris to listen to the music of more than 150 DJs who ride through the city on top of huge floats (called lovemobiles).
One of the largest street parades in Europe, Techno Parade attracts partiers from all over the world. Part of Rendez-vous Électroniques, a larger electronic music festival, the parade runs for three miles through various parts of the city. As the sun sets, everyone typically relocates to a nearby club to continue dancing through the night.
Techno Parade’s roots go back to the early 1990s, when it began as a protest against the government’s repression of electronic music. The first official Techno Parade took place in 1998, featuring such legendary DJs as Bob Sinclar, Carl Cox, and Jack de Marseille.
Other Techno Parade performers from past years include Zeds Dead, Afrojack, Dirtyphonics, and Mt. Eden.
The best part? Techno Parade is completely free – just make sure you go early to beat the crowds.
