The Social Club’s reputation for hosting the best DJs in the city, taking chances on new French indie bands, and offering the most diverse roster of musical genres has earned it an enthusiastic and devoted following in the Paris music scene.

A nondescript corner entrance leads fans down a set of shabby stairs into a dark underground area with a “retro-futuristic” look.

Black walls, black couches, and bright neon lighting running along the open duct work make up most of the décor, while the rest of the space is given over to a long bar, a dance floor, and a small stage and DJ area, where guest performers lay down their finest sounds.

Many of the featured local bands draw crowds of their own fan base, but regardless of who is playing, the hip young clientele is serious about music and ready to indulge on the dance floor or just soak up the tunes from the sidelines.

The space is fairly small and the doormen are vigilant about the capacity, so it’s always a good idea to arrive a bit early – but even when packed to the gills, Social Club maintains an easygoing vibe.
