Once past the picky doormen, fashionable patrons descend two flights into a dark basement space with sparse décor, glitter-laced walls, and geometrically angled mirrors on the ceilings that reflect the crowd.

Two bars and red velvet chairs and booths fill out the space, but leave plenty of room for an ample dance floor that is typically packed with a surprisingly unpretentious clientele of bobos (bohemian bourgeoisie) and fashion models who were either on the list or knew the "magic word" that usually changes nightly.

Smokers, meanwhile, cram into a small cave-like room rather than head outside, knowing full well it might be tough to get back in.

Even though the lines outside are always long and the door especially hard to crack, the always chic atmosphere that prevails below makes Chez Régine le place to be.

One of the more fashionable places in Paris

Chez Regine is another exclusive spot, like Le Baron, but still a good place to at least attempt to get into. The crowd here can be a tad on the snooty side but, if that does not pose a problem in your eyes, it is a very, very fashionable place to be. With cool interiors and a glamorous vibe, this venue is a spot to hit up on a thursday night. Cocktails a little pricey but if that is not a concern, Chez Regine is a great place.
