The livelier sister bar of Rue Louvre’s Promenade Lounge – and with the same Big Apple attitude – Café Le Pavillon has enough loud music and animated conversation to make patrons think they’re in Gotham City itself.
Groups of students and relaxed hipsters settle in on the wicker chairs outside to smoke, drink, and peruse the specials on the chalkboard, while preppy university kids tuck into burgers and guzzle cosmopolitans inside.
A small space featuring stone pillars, polished wood floors, and hot pink walls, the café is usually bustling with a vibrant young crowd that shows up early for the Happy Hour and then stays on until closing.
Although flat-screen TVs tuned to Top 40 music videos provide some entertainment, the real show is the spectacle at the pink and black bar, where nimble bartenders flip liquor bottles and craft outrageously colorful drinks.
Laid back but lively, Café Le Pavillon is a perfect spot for meeting up with friends and dishing some dirt over cocktails.
Sociable mix of students, post-grads, co-workers, couples, and hipsters, early 20s+.
Playlist of upbeat R&B and Top 40 tunes.
Franco-American menu including burgers and salads, with international appetizers after 4pm. Sunday brunch buffet. Happy Hour daily 5–9pm.
Breakfast €5.50+, appetizers €7+, entrées €12+, two courses €21.50, three courses €26.50. Beer €7+, wine €3.50+/glass or €15–€60/bottle, cocktails €9, milkshakes €8.
Casual: jeans, t-shirts, polo shirts, sundresses, flip-flops.
Friday and Saturday nights for the busiest scene and excellent weekend Happy Hour specials.
130 Club (130 Rue de Rivoli) is the perfect place to take the party into the early hours.
