Marais - 3eme / 4eme, Paris –
Part pub and part Brit-punk dive tucked away on a modest little side street of the Marais, Stolly’s is a friendly neighborhood bar with just a dash of grit.
Frequented by a largely English-speaking crowd, this easygoing tavern features stone walls, a small terrace, and a random décor that includes a bear statue, a lava lamp, and a Roy Lichtenstein print, but that is hardly the focal point of the place – that spot is reserved for the customers themselves, who create a convivial, hospitable ambiance that makes everyone feel right at home.
During the week, the scruffy and outgoing bartenders serve a special brew called Cheap Blonde to the devoted regulars who gather for pints and rugby matches, while on the weekends a young French crowd fills the place out to create a pleasant mix of people looking for laid-back fun.
Stolly’s isn’t unique and is worlds away from hip, but for patrons just looking to chill with a drink it’s downright special.
Young, mostly English-speaking, and completely casual, 20s and 30s.
Loud American rock music and patrons who aren’t afraid to sing along, especially by the end of Happy Hour.
Happy Hour daily 5–8pm.
Beer €3.90+. Cheap Blonde €5/pint, €13/pitcher.
Casual.
The bar is most crowded on the weekends, especially around 11pm.
