A popular spot for the college crowd, Lizard Lounge is a friendly neighborhood bar set in the predominately gay Marais scene.
Housed in a three-story wooden structure, Lizard Lounge is comprised of a main floor and second-level balcony with classic café tables for the lunch and brunch crowds and features a simple décor of modern artwork and creative, handmade objects.
By night, the chalkboard menus make their appearance to tout the bar’s crowd-pleasing weekly custom cocktails. The lounge seems small, but on closer inspection guests will discover the space downstairs, where dim red lighting and a low stone ceiling create a mellow atmosphere in the aptly named Underground.
Making one’s way around is like navigating a network of caves, and wanderers are sure to find every nook filled with customers lounging on sofas or dancing to the sounds of electronic music.
Whether patrons show up for the extensive brunch menu on the weekends or for the cheerful pub vibe at night, Lizard Lounge is a pleasant, casual spot definitely worth a visit.
A young international crowd, lots of English speakers.
A DJ plays electronic and techno Wednesdays through Sundays. Occasional live music.
Chips and salsa, guacamole, burgers, and salads. Upstairs Happy Hour 5–8pm, downstairs Happy Hour 8–10pm.
Lunch €5–€12, brunch €12–€18. Beer €3+, cocktails €6–€8.
Smart casual.
Weekends, Happy Hour, and Student Night on Tuesdays when the Happy Hour is extended until midnight. The crowd is larger whenever there’s live music.
