A small, historic bar from the 1960s updated for the 2000s, Le Montana is a chic late-night spot that attracts a fashion forward crowd of models, designers, celebrities, and international types.
Patrons who make it past the selective doormen will find themselves in an intimate and somewhat unsettling neo-goth environment complete with walls of broken mirrors and seats crafted of black-painted animal bones.
Custom insect wallpaper and skull lanterns greet guests in the small bar and tiny dance floor that occupy the downstairs area, while the main bar upstairs is the focal point of a long and comfortable lounge obviously designed with cocktails and conversation in mind.
The slightly over-designed aesthetic and clientele can be a little pretentious, but the vibe is enlivened thanks in large part to the casual, nonchalant air of the staff and the young crowd living it up on the dance floor.
Despite appearances, Le Montana is a very chill bar and perhaps one of the last places in Paris where patrons can still get away with smoking indoors.
Mostly international, 20s and 30s, with some well-dressed older guests in their 40s.
Downstairs DJ mixes 70s and 80s alternative and pop.
None.
Beer €10, wine €12+, cocktails €15–€20.
Anything goes as long as it’s designer.
The busiest nights are Thursdays through Saturdays.
