FISHNETSDec 12, 20123.0 starsPossibly better to watch than participateDuring the festival of San Fermin, this is a must see for those that enjoy sights that border on a complete train wreck. While throngs of white and red clad partyers from all over the world convene act as a human mattress, those who are brave at heart and probably drunk as s*** climb the fountain in the center of the square and dive off into the crowd of people hoping to catch a crowd surfing wave. Unfortunately, due to the level of intoxication required to think something of this nature is a good idea there are more than a few people who either dive onto an empty spot, or are too heavy to be supported (I'm looking at you over sized Americans) and end up being carried off to the medics waiting at the nearest road - which to be honest usually isn't that close. Fun to watch, not so much to participate, and even then it's only fun and games until someone gets hurt (which is about once every few hours). Alas, it is something you should see if you've made the trip all the way over there, just try to leave before things get too messy.

I was there for festival de san fermines several years ago so it was packed with people wearing the traditional white with red scarves and belts. there are some pubs around the square and it was very lively because of all of the revelers. I can't speak to what it might be like when there is not a festival in the town but it was fun during the festival!
