Beekman Beer Garden Beach Club Information

Located on the north side of Pier 17 by the South Street Seaport in NYC, Beekman Beer Garden brings the beach to the East River. A sprawling outdoor space right on the waterfront gives patrons an up close view of the Brooklyn Bridge while their toes play in the imported sand at their feet.

The upscale beach experience is accentuated by glowing lounge chairs, white sofas, hammocks, and even bars made out of driftwood. You can park yourself under the tented area or a cabana on a hot day while enjoying a frosty pint of brew, or bask in the warm summer night while playing table games like ping pong or foosball.

The crowds at Beekman Beer Garden lean on the trendy side, with girls in sundresses and guys in sandals and polo’s. There’s also a musical stage here, and concerts at Beekman Beer Garden play everything from rock to electro to jazz against the beautiful skyline backdrop.

Jaclyn Wishnia Dec 6, 2012 3.0 stars Boats and Beers I'm not typically a fan of FiDi nor of beer, but combine the two and put it next to a body of water on a warm summer night and all of a sudden it's like I'm a new person. This may be my favorite beer garden in Manhattan. The views are gorgeous of the bridges, the night skyline and the water. My friends and I planned a huge get together for after work. It was not convenient for many of us to get to at such an early hour, but it was well worth the rush out of the office and the trip downtown. It was one of those perfect summer, Thursday nights that are not too muggy. I'm so glad we all came from work because I'm guessing half of Wall Street heads here and it is definitely a suits venture at that hour. The place gets surprisingly packed for an outdoor venue. There are plenty of wooden picnic tables lining the area as well as these awesome white couches that light up when it gets dark enough. It is such a trippy scene and so does not belong with the venue, but for some reason it just works with the posh crowd. They have snacks and some food, but I wouldn't necessarily eat here. They also have ping pong tables and pool! It really is a little bit of everything coming here. They have classy beers on tap like Magic Hat and Blue Point, which is why they run a bit more expensive. They also have a full bar, which was great for me or people who don't care for beer. It's not your typical German beer garden, but it works for its location and honestly, how many bars can you count in Manhattan that have sand as one of their main features? On the con side: Be prepared to spend money, use porta-potties and travel to FiDi. The trip back will not be your easiest.

FISHNETS Nov 22, 2012 3.0 stars Great View In conjunction with the Seaport this is one of my favorite places to bring out of town guests. I always find it really relaxing to sit at the picnic tables and just take in the view of the bridges and the river. I've also been here for the aforementioned Knife Party concert and enjoyed being able to go inside the tent to dance during the show, and also having the reprieve of the particularly trippy while drunk, LED lit furniture on the man made beach in the back. My only complaint about the place is the price of the beers which is a bit more than average for a beer on tap, but I guess it's one of those "paying for the ambiance" prices.
