Smells Like High School Graduation
Risa C. Dec 10, 2012
No seriously, my graduating class from high school was so large we held our graduation ceremony here. Since that was years and years ago, I've also been here to see a few concerts, most recently, NIkki Minaj and Lil Wayne. From what I remember of the concert after coming into contact with some lovely bronx ladies selling nutcrackers outside the venue, their entrance process for that particular concert was quite slow and had us waiting inline outside for about half an hour before we were able to go through security. Once it, the arena is pretty standard for what you would expect of a sports/concert arena with standard crap snacks and mediocre beers - although I can also say the beer lines aren't very long. Additionally, we were able to sneak down in the middle of the show to better seats as they weren't too strict about checking tickets half way into the show. Go if you have something interesting to see, otherwise, it's nothing special.
Exactly What You Would Expect

Nassau Coliseum is a bit of a schlep from NYC or NJ, but a lot of great bands play there so I've been there a few times. It's very standard compared to any other venue of that size, and prices fall in line. I saw Phish at the Coliseum years ago and our seats were only a few rows from the very top - view was still fine, and had an awesome time. Like most venues of its kind, whether or not you have a great time really depends on who you are there to see, and how crazy the crowd is. Parking can be a bit annoying because it's kind of disorganized and one huge lot. But if you are with good company and are enjoying who you came to see, you'll have a nice time. BRING CASH!!
