Every year thrill-seekers and horror fans come to the Nightmare: New York Haunted House in New York City. For the entire month of October, Nightmare Haunted House invites the public to tour its horrifying halls and disturbing rooms at the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. This haunted house was created by Timothy Haskell and Steve Kopelman, the twisted minds behind legendary haunted houses and Halloween productions like Nightmare and The Nest.
Nightmare: New York 2014 explores the public’s obsession urban legends, horror stories, and serial killers. Real life murderers depicted at Killers include notorious psychopaths like Ted Bundy, Albert Fish, Jeffrey Dahmer, and the Zodiac Killer. Learn more about the killers with an intro exhibit featuring art and the belongings of the homicidal maniacs you’ll encounter inside. After learning all you can stomach, wander through Jack the Ripper’s London streets and try to make it past the infamous dining room of Ed Gein, the grave-robbing murderer who inspired iconic horror films like The Silence of the Lambs and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Tickets to the 2014 Nightmare: New York Haunted House start at around $30 for general admission to $60 for the VIP pass with front of the line access. After making it through the haunted house, celebrate your narrow escape by dancing until dawn at the nightclubs nearby in New York City.
