Party Earth Loreley Restaurant & Biergarten Review

Named after a mythical siren of the Rhine River, Loreley Restaurant & Biergarten lures a clientele of beer lovers both day and night.

The rustic brick and wood front room sports pine tables and a long black bar, where financial types and young professionals mingle with hip downtown artists over savory German food and massive steins of Spaten Lager.

A seasonal, tent-covered outdoor beer garden is usually abuzz with loud chatter as patrons cluster at communal picnic tables, while both indoor and outdoor spaces get rowdy on Saturday and Sunday afternoons when locals flock to this favorite neighborhood watering hole for brunch, and a younger set shows up early to get a head start on drinking.

A jovial stein-clinking vibe pervades early on, but the beer goes down easy and gets progressively more raucous for the hard-drinking crowd, which usually doesn't disperse until the wee hours.

Authentic and friendly, Loreley is probably best experienced with a group of friends with plenty of time to while away the hours over stellar beer, mouthwatering brats, and talks about the previous night’s escapades.

I've been here a few times, but my best experience would have to be on a Sunday morning with other service industry workers sipping beers trying to keep from crossing the dreaded line into sobriety - and its consequent hangover. My friend lived close by and this was his meetup spot with his friends for recounting the previous nights antics over obligatory beers and alcohol absorbing German food. In the summer it's particularly nice to partake in this ritual enjoying the summer sun with your hangover necessary sunglasses. In the evening however it can be hit or miss so I tend to prefer this place for my weekend brunch day drinking.
