Party Earth Jimmy at the James Hotel Review

The Scene

Situated eighteen floors above SoHo in the ultra-modern James Hotel, Jimmy is a don't-miss rooftop hang with a 360-degree city view and a fashionable clientele of successful local artists and creative professionals.

Situated eighteen floors above SoHo in the ultra-modern James Hotel, Jimmy is a don’t-miss rooftop hang with a 360-degree city view and a fashionable clientele of successful local artists and creative professionals.

Sleek and chic, the space features soaring windows and a busy bar serving premium beers and mixology creations like the Chanel No. 9 and the Night of the Iguana to artsy couples and stylish Ladies’ Night revelers.

A comfy lounge provides plenty of slate-colored sofas for the groups of well-dressed work cohorts who gather to unwind, while the pool deck – glowing with a spectral blue light reflecting off the water – features glass rails that allow guests to get that much closer to the breathtaking view of the Brooklyn Bridge and distant glittering lights of Midtown.

Wicker tables and deck chairs make the patio the preferred warm-weather hangout for chatty patrons in the mood to mingle or even take an evening dip after soaking up the sun.

Undeniably classy, Jimmy is the perfect place for anyone looking for a dose of urban magic.

Tip from Adriana:

It may be swanky, but Jimmy is super relaxed which makes it the place to go on balmy summer nights. How can you beat an evening of sipping Mexican Honey Bees while checking out the skyline over the river?

With spectacular views of Manhattan, the Jimmy at the James Rooftop does not disappoint! With spring finally here in NYC, this venue is perfect for happy hour or starting off your Saturday night. Dress to impress and you will enjoy great music, delicious drinks and a beautiful atmosphere.
Great View

I came here on a random low key Monday or Tuesday and had no problem with the door - except finding it since it's around the corner from the main entrance to the hotel. Actually, when we walked towards the entrance the security guard told us that yes this was the entrance to the Jimmy, but no he couldn't let us in and we would have to go back outside and walk around the block. But at least he was nice about it. Once we got upstairs, I loved the view and the swanky decor. My friends ordered some kind of fruity drinks which they really liked and I got the ODB which tasted like a bloody mary minus the tomato juice - I mean that in the absolute best way possible. The drinks are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for, and what you're paying for is the awesome view.

For the Adriana crowd, Jimmy at the James (sounds like an Elton John tune!) is a great place to hang. With its swank interior (including really, really creepy wall art) that includes oddly-shaped seating and small fireplaces, and its outdoor swimming pool and glittering skyline view, this place exudes that upscale New York kind of vibe. But if you want to listen to music and not pay the very blood in your veins for a scotch, get out of here, man. It's all chill beats and overpriced fruit-tinis here, the sort of star-driven false sense of laid-back honesty that easily becomes tiresome and menacing on any given night.
