The New Yorker Festival Description

Normally held over the first weekend in October, The New Yorker Festival features three days packed with writer discussions, Q&As, tours, historical talks, and much more, making it a sure-fire event for urban intellectuals of all stripes.

The New Yorker Festival is intended to highlight cultural luminaries and regular contributors to The New Yorker magazine, and has been an annual NYC festival since it first debuted in early 2000.

Past New Yorker Festivals have included talks led by staff writer Malcolm Gladwell, tours of popular city museums before they open to the public, foodie excursions to various neighborhood restaurants, and lots of interviews with everyone from Margaret Atwood to Stephen King.

Other New Yorker Festival events have included advanced screenings of movies like Cloud Atlas, which was followed by an interview with the film’s producers and director.

Tickets to The New Yorker Festival are usually around $30, depending on which event you take part in.
