New York foodies and film buffs unite at the annual NYC Food Film Festival. Since 2007, the NYC Food Film Festival has featured screenings of food films paired with themed tastings at participating theaters throughout New York like the AMC Village 7. For five days in October, the best food filmmakers and chefs collaborate to provide the public with the chance to taste the food they see on screen.
Past films featured at the NYC Food Film Festival include “A Taste of Home” by James Reford, “An L.A. Pastrami Story” by Rob Locke, and “Bon Appetit” by Beto Nahmad and Alber Fernandez. Chefs like Chris Rendell of Highlands Restaurant Group provide special tasting opportunities like a singe malt whiskey-pairing menu while the Food Porn Party offers a fun food art exhibit and even food burlesque.
Chefs featured at the NYC Food Film Festival have included Brad Farmerie of Saxon + Parole and Public as well as Robert Stehling of Hominy Grill. With short films, world premieres, and tastings there’s plenty to keep your senses busy at the NYC Food Film Festival.
Tickets to 2014 NYC Food Film Festival screenings and tasting events range from about $85 to $200 depending on the film and menu. After feasting your eyes and filling your stomach, set the rest of your body in motion at the nightclubs nearby in New York City.
