Munich’s famed Oktoberfest gets due recognition at Bierhaus NYC, a Bavarian-style restaurant and bar near Grand Central Station that holds its own hopping hops-fueled festivities from the third week in September all the way till the end of October.
Visitors to Bierhaus NYC Oktoberfest will find all of the traditional German action one would expect in the motherland, including live polka bands most nights, stein holding competitions, ceremonial keg tappings, and more.
There’s also a National Oktoberfest Bratwurst Eating Championship for those with the stomach to handle it, which is normally held at Bierhaus NYC in mid-October, and includes a $1,500 prize pool with a first place prize of $750.
Beers at Bierhaus NYC Oktoberfest are usually around $8–$9/pint, while big plates of traditional German grub ranging from around $4 for potato salad to $18 for schnitzel to $31 for a thick slab of slow-roasted pork shank.
Reservations are suggested for those looking to attend Bierhaus NYC Oktoberfest, and require a $25 minimum spend per person. Ten-person tables can also be reserved during Bierhaus NYC Oktoberfest for a $250 minimum spend.
