American rock band OneRepublic was formed in Colorado Springs, CO, in 2002 when childhood friends Ryan Tedder and Zach Filkins graduated from college and decided to start their second band together. Other current members are Drew Brown, Eddie Fisher, and Brent Kutzle.
Signed by Columbia Records, the band spent two and a half years recording its first album, only to be dropped by Columbia two months before the album release date. The band had, however, built a large following on MySpace, then a huge platform for musicians, and were eventually signed to Timbaland’s label Mosley Music Group.
“Apologize,” the first single from the album Shock Value, was a huge hit in the U.S. and international markets, selling over five million digital downloads. The song appeared on several shows, including The Hills and Gossip Girl.
OneRepublic's second album, Waking Up, included several hit singles, including “Secrets,” “Marchin' On,” and “Good Life,” all of which appeared in many shows and movies, including Pretty Little Liars and Eat, Pray, Love. OneRepublic has worked with other stars, from Leona Lewis to Maroon5. The band released its third album, Native, in 2013.
The OneRepublic tour is happening now and sure to sell out. Get your OneRepublic tickets before they're gone!
