New York Comedy Festival Description

Launched in 2004, the New York Comedy Festival is a five-day event that brings lots of laughs to venues all over NYC every November.

Produced by Comedy Central and Carolines on Broadway – a famous comedy club in Times Square – the New York Comedy Festival features a wide range of performers, interviews, and panel discussions with big names in the funny business.

Previous New York Comedy Festival performers have included Aziz Ansari (from “Parks and Recreation”) doing standup at the Apollo Theater and Carnegie Hall, Kevin Hart at Madison Square Garden, an evening with Bill Maher at the Beacon Theater, an interview with Ricky Gervais (conducted by John Hodgman) at Town Hall, Robin Williams in conversation with David Steinberg at the 92nd Street Y, and many more.

The New York Comedy Festival roster normally features more than 175 different comedians, so anyone would be hard-pressed not to crack a smile at one of the many festival shows. Other New York Comedy Festival performers in recent years have included Artie Lange, Patton Oswalt, Brian Regan, Rob Delaney, Jim Gaffigan, and Marlon and Shawn Wayans.

Tickets to New York Comedy Festival shows can vary widely depending on which you go see. New York Comedy Festival tickets can be as little as $10 to some of the smaller club shows, to more than $100 for prime seating if you want to catch Gaffigan and the like.

Because of the influx of amazing comics blanketing the city during the festival, it’s not uncommon for the comedy clubs all over the city to be filled with A-listers doing surprise late night sets, trying out new and old material alike.
