Aug 7, 2012 — Sometimes you just want a chilled out night where you can sip a couple drinks and wax poetic about the wonders of the universe. But tonight, we’re looking to get wild at crazy dance clubs with teeth-rattling bass lines and bold pyrotechnic productions. The clubs in New York are calling us like the Pied Piper – except with bottle service in place of a flute. And sparklers.
Nothing defines a perfect Friday or Saturday like hitting a packed dance floor dressed in killer gear you hope your parents never see, and thanks to New York’s incredible variety and far-reaching expanse of top clubs, nothing defines a perfect Monday through Thursday and Sunday too!
Every type of club imaginable can be found in The Big Apple. From cavernous velvet-roped temples in the Meatpacking District where being a 9 makes you the girl-next-door, to the gritty underground warehouses of Williamsburg filled with head-banging hipsters, to friendly college haunts that apologize neither for the blaring Top 40 or the ridiculously fruity cocktails.
Dolled-up, dressed-down, and everything in-between, here’s the 411 on some of our favorite New York dance clubs.
Just leave your flute at home. Flutes are never cool unless they’re filled with champagne.
