Party Earth Maison Premiere Review

The Scene

A warm and stylish slice of the Big Easy right in the heart of Williamsburg, Maison Premiere is an oyster and absinthe bar catering to the more discerning hipsters of Bedford Avenue.

A warm and stylish slice of the Big Easy right in the heart of Williamsburg, Maison Premiere is an oyster and absinthe bar catering to the more discerning hipsters of Bedford Avenue.

Founded by Le Barricou’s Josh Boissy and decorated by John and Kevin McCormick of Moto and Smith & Mills fame, the venue provides a swanky hideout for the vintage-clad young professionals who fill the semi-circular front room during the weekday Happy Hours to sip old-world rye cocktails and sample the impressive, 20 or so, variety of oysters.

Around the other side of the central bar, laid-back couples enjoy cocktails around marble café tables soaking up the coziness of the black-and-white photographs on the walls and small pot-bellied stove in the corner.

Daring patrons ready for an encounter with the Green Fairy can make their way to the circular bar, whose multi-levered bronze absinthe tap – not to mention the absinthe fountain modeled after a French Quarter statue – serves a wide variety of the potent nectar, though there are plenty of fine wines and craft beers to satisfy the less adventurous.

While the weekends bring in big crowds of roving foodies and absinthe lovers, Maison Premiere always maintains a lively vibe more focused on conversation and fine food and wine than on wild parties.

Patrons looking for a little taste of New Orleans charm will find it at Maison Premiere, whose flawless décor and relaxed ambiance make it a perfect getaway to the Big Easy right in the heart of Brooklyn.

Maison Premiere us very beautifully decorated inside with a drinks separate menu with great selection of winery list. The place offers great staff and great dinner plates! My favorite is the oysters. Come with different combinations. Prices are fair I would say if you love oysters than you will love Masion Premiere!
Fancy pants absinthe dance

I like absinthe as much as the next writer who believes insidious supernatural beings might try and contact him, but oysters aren't really my thing. Thankfully, Maison Premiere has enough going for it that I only need to enjoy the former without having to rely on the latter. The interior is gorgeous, somewhere between an English gentlemen's lodge and the Secret Garden, and the staff are incredible helpful and laid-back. Then, there's the drinks menu, with an excellent selection of wines, the occasional nice beer, and of course, plenty of Le Feey Verte to keep you seeing emeralds all night. Definitely try to swing by--if you like oysters, all the better.
Superb Staff

I came here with a friend to try oysters, and I think I can safely say that this is the best oyster bar in the city. The bartenders are delightful. My friend and I didn't know which kind of oysters to order, so our server gave us a rundown of the extensive menu and, once we'd parred down the flavors we were looking for, offered up some of his favorites. What we were served was so good, we got another round, in spite of the prices. $3 an oyster really adds up! Everything was very fresh. The cocktail menu was heavy on absinthes and bourbon-whiskey-type liquors. You can tell the restaurant and its staff take the whole operation very seriously. The crowd was very smart and trendy, so if you like a little "scene" to go with your dining, this place has got it but doesn't overdo it. Highly recommend it.
