Party Earth Review The Bowery has come a long way since its historic skid row days, and the elegant Lobby Bar at the Bowery Hotel is a prime example of how the street has turned grit into glamour over the past few decades. A nostalgic décor recalling the grand parlors of yesteryear forms the backdrop for this disheveled but sexy hangout ... more

Party Earth Review Located in the swanky Gramercy Park Hotel, Rose Bar is a chic and modern parlor that draws a clientele of artists, trendsetters, and the occasional celebrity. While no longer an A-list hotspot, the venue (created by Ian Schrager of Studio 54 fame, and designed by Julian Schnabel) still has a discerning door and guests who ... more

Party Earth Review The Hudson Hotel’s stone fortress façade and single flickering torch over the neon green door give no hint of the whimsical complex of bars inside, but after beaming up from the foyer via two phosphorescent escalators, the upscale clientele will find a playground of drinking options and parties. Party Earth Review Set atop the aptly named Dream Downtown Hotel, PH-D is a penthouse bar decked out in glass, glitter, and enough celebrity-studded luxury to make even the most moneyed Manhattanite blush. Party Earth Review Despite its popularity with Armani-clad Wall Streeters, Bar Seven Five in the Andaz Hotel is an unpretentious and informal locale perfect for after-work drinks. Okay, so it’s not actually the city that NEVER sleeps, but if you’re in town looking to party what better place to do it than at one of the many great New York hotel bars? There are a lot – A LOT – to choose from, but of course just because you have a bar that happens to be in a hotel does not automatically make it a NYC hotel bar worth visiting.
Great hotel bars in New York attract people who actually live in the city, not just hotel guests, and thankfully there are several spots in this bustling metropolis that do just that. On the high-end, you really can’t go wrong with the Gansevoort Park Avenue Rooftop, where fashionable patrons take in unobstructed views of the Empire State Building through massive floor-to-ceiling windows as they relax on suede sofas and sling back bottles of champagne.
Kastel is another must for the trendy set, although with its austere unmarked entrance on the side of the Trump SoHo Hotel, patrons trying to find this upscale New York hotel bar would do better to look for the line of fashionable models and corporate types having their names crossed off the guest list at the door.
From Rose Bar in the Gramercy Park Hotel to Bar Seven Five in the Andaz Hotel to the glitzy Jane Ballroom in the Jane Hotel in West Village, New York hotel bars keep guests and longtime residents alike happy to check in.
