Party Earth Review: Despite its popularity with Armani-clad Wall Streeters, Bar Seven Five in the Andaz Hotel is an unpretentious and informal locale perfect for after-work drinks. A stone staircase leads up from the lobby into an airy high-ceilinged room with large windows, wooden floors, paneled walls, and a series of hefty black butcher-block tables. The bar itself is just another black table with a display of liquors and fresh-squeezed juices, which creates a vague line between the staff and the customers that adds to the easygoing vibe not usually found in such a polished establishment. On weekday evenings, coworkers and groups of friends chat beneath clusters of gold teardrop lights as bartenders with rolling Pullman carts stop by to whip up classic Prohibition-era cocktails with a twist, like mint juleps made with applejack and Old-Fashioneds made with tequila, while hungry patrons nibble on pâté or order something more substantial from the hotel’s restaurant. Weekends see an influx of lively local artists and young professionals who show up to start their nights with a few skillfully crafted drinks and a little mingling. Sleek and chic, Bar Seven Five offers a sophisticated and fun atmosphere where both hip young locals and finance guys will feel right at home.
