Party Earth Review Spanning sixteen thousand square feet over three floors, Stout NYC is an immense but homey Irish pub usually filled with a bustling crowd of young professionals – not to mention the yells of rowdy University of Texas football fans who have made the pub their official hangout on fall Saturday afternoons. Originally designed ... more

Party Earth Review Patrons in search of an offbeat experience need look no further than Apothéke, a bar and lounge that transports guests into a 19th-century opium and absinthe den – which is exactly what this space was back in the day. Known for its décor as much as for its mind-blowing cocktails, the bar features the original pressed-tin ... more

Party Earth Review Patrons might experience a bit of déjà vu when they walk into Botanica Bar, a quintessential dive bar whose black-and-red linoleum and second-hand décor every New Yorker has seen at least once, but was probably too drunk to remember. Friday and Saturday nights draw an intoxicated weekend warrior crowd that swarms around ... more

Party Earth Review The sparse black exterior of Nolita’s Sweet and Vicious may seem unwelcoming at first, but once patrons walk through the double wood doors, they find themselves in a hip yet unpretentious bar where schmoozing with the regulars is the order of the day. The rustic plank floors in this dark lounge vibrate with incredibly loud ... more

Bar
Party Earth Review As the name suggests, the NoHo watering hole Black and White is all about contrasts, and this bar manages to be both dark and sultry and warm and welcoming all at the same time. Popular with a diverse mix of hipsters, young professionals, and college kids, the bar isn’t much more than a candlelit basement room fitted out ... more

Party Earth Review Although its days as a hush-hush in-spot famous for its Ivy parties are gone, Chloe 81 maintains its reputation as an exclusive upscale haunt for a fashionable and moneyed clientele ready to drink and dance the night away. A strict and rather arbitrary door policy – overseen by bouncers with phantom guest lists – still ... more

Ale House / Bar
Party Earth Review Discreetly concealed behind a nondescript awning lined with blue Christmas lights lies d.b.a., a no-frills alehouse featuring over 250 international beers. Party Earth Review Although its first-come first-served door policy is deadly serious, Death & Co.’s mix of cocktail den class and warm personality makes this sleek lounge far more welcoming than its name suggests. Everyone knows that the bars in New York are second to none, and anyone who can’t find a bar to suit their personality probably doesn’t love bars all that much. Whether people are in the mood for cutting edge cocktails, tourist-laden chain bars, authentic Irish joints, or the chicest rooftop bars on the planet, NYC has it all – with new drinking dens popping up every day.
Over in Chinatown and the East Village, hip, alternative trendsetters head to hole-in-the-wall bars, dirty dives, and DIY upstarts to down cheap beer, while the city’s sports culture is well represented by hundreds of New York bars all over where fun-loving, more mainstream crowds show up to watch the Yankees, Jets, Knicks, and countless other teams over a few friendly brews.
The fashion set and hipsters with money make the Meatpacking District the place to be for late-night drinking, Hell’s Kitchen is a flourishing artist’s community packed with cozy bars and warm hangouts, and the stunning rooftop bars in Chelsea cater to A-list celebrities and A-list wannabes with money to burn.
Of course, it’s not just New York proper where the bar scene is the stuff of legend, as Brooklyn has long been a vibrant area that still stands apart as a less expensive alternative to exorbitantly priced Manhattan. But even though the price of beer is cheaper in BK, the party isn’t any less intense, with DIY bars, choice wine bars, student dives, and classic old speakeasies all over town.
