Munich Half Marathon Running Every Year in October

The Munich Half Marathon is an annual race held in October throughout the city, beginning in Olympiapark and culminating inside the Olympic Stadium for an epic finish. The Olympic Stadium was the central site for the infamous 1972 Munich Olympic Games and continues to host major sporting events on a yearly basis.

The Munich Half Marathon is a three-day event, with the actual race taking place on the third day while the first two days are filled with a Bavarian breakfast, noodle parties, and the marathon expo which attracts 45,000 annual attendees. The race is generally a week after Oktoberfest, which explains the unique occurrence of runners being offered beer while racing. Past Munich Half Marathon winners include Sören Kahm and Susanne Hahn.

Munich Half Marathon registration occurs through the end of September and costs €49 to reserve a spot in the race.
