Munich Mexican Restaurants Overview

Mexican restaurants in Munich used to be in the minority of the many ethnic eateries that line the streets. But over the past few years, more and more have been opening up in the Bavarian capital.

On the more popular end of the spectrum is Sausalitos, which has two locations in Munich and is frequented mostly by a young, pre-club crowd. Sausalitos boasts cheap jumbo cocktails and a full menu of Mexican fare.

A little farther west of the city center is El Patio, which has perhaps the largest selection of tequilas in Munich – and a Mexican chef to boot.

These days, however, the most popular Mexican restaurant in Munich seems to be Zapata. In this authentic, cantina-style joint, one can join the mostly young and trendy crowd sitting amongst cacti and sequined sombreros for some truly revolutionary Mexican cuisine, or at least a strong margarita.
