Lehel, Munich –
A local saying states that Munich is Italy’s most northern city, and the quaint and romantic Italian café La Stanza (The Room) embodies that saying by making each patron feel like they've just stepped off the streets of Venice.
Popular with the glamorous clubbing set as well as an older, more refined crowd, the venue's black stone floor, modern yet comfortable black-and-white chairs, and wood-framed windows ooze 60s style and flair while maintaining a tranquil atmosphere in which to savor some truly divine Italian cuisine.
Adding to the hip décor is a large mural of the Palio, Siena’s famous horserace, and the lovely Venetian Room, which recreates the ambiance of a Venetian café overlooking the Grand Canal.
In the evening, La Stanza is transformed into a chic lounge where sophisticated guests go to discuss cinema and the arts as they sink into the relaxing vibe over artfully prepared cocktails.
Although La Stanza is wonderful to experience with a group of friends, it’s equally conducive to a romantic rendezvous.
Chic locals, models, and good-looking, affluent people, mid-20s and up.
Groovy house and lounge music.
Constantly changing menu features fresh ingredients, homemade pasta, and a special fish and meat dish. Extensive wine list – servers can recommend appropriate menu pairings. Dinner reservations are advisable on the weekends or for larger groups.
Menu €7–€15. Beer €3, wine €3+, cocktails €7+.
Any time during the week for dinner or drinks in a quiet, pleasant atmosphere.
