Tapa Tapa is a Mexican bar locally famous for its delicious nachos, fun atmosphere, and unbeatable Happy Hour. The décor of sombreros and cacti is standard fare but the rich earth tones and low lighting create a mellow and enticing atmosphere for an enjoyable night out. Families frequent the first floor by day, but by night it’s overtaken by a stylish crowd of young professionals and students that flock in to socialize over frozen margaritas and Desperados – that’s tequila-flavored beer for the uninitiated. The comfy leather banquettes and big tables on the second floor are a more popular hangout for patrons who want to spread out and stay awhile, and the large bars on both floors offer an excellent view as the bartenders whip up a variety of frozen cocktails. In the summer, the spacious sidewalk seating area fills up early as thirsty, chatty patrons sip their cocktails at candlelit tables and groove to MTV hits and Latin beats. For a lively night featuring jumbo mojitos and a Latin flavor, Tapa Tapa is a sure bet.
A mix of young professionals, students, and travelers, early 20s to 30s.
Big-screen TVs, two of which are tuned to MTV.
Impressive variety of Mexican dishes including nachos, fajitas, burritos, and enchiladas. Great quality and big portions. Shisha served after 8pm. Happy Hour 4–8pm.
Nachos €6, entrées €4–€14. Desperados €3.90, wine €3.50+, cocktails €7+.
Casual.
Weekends are the busiest and attract a young international and local crowd.
