Rayo Vallecano is a professional football club that plays matches at Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas in Madrid, Spain. The stadium was opened in 1976 and has a seating capacity of 15,500 for Vallecanos matches. Rayo Vallecano was first formed back in 1924 and currently plays in La Liga, the top tier league in Spain. Though the team has been around for nearly 100 years, their success has been limited – mostly due to the fact that they play against Barcelona and Madrid who are not only the two best Spanish teams, but two of the best teams in the history of football. Some notable Vallecanos players include Javi Fuego, Mikel Labaka, Toni Polster, and Mohamed Diamé.
