Music Venues in Madrid

The people of Madrid love their music, and they enjoy it inside a massive array of music venues spread across this expansive city.

Flamenco, of course, is an institution, and watching a musician strum his guitar while a beautiful women glides across the floor is a live music experience you will not soon forget. After you’ve fallen in love with that guitarist or that dancer (or both), make sure you branch out to Madrid’s other music venues where you’ll have a chance to catch acts in practically every genre imaginable.

Some of the biggest music venues in Madrid include Estadio Vicente Calderon and Santiago Bernabeu, both of which are frequent stops on the calendars of major international artists who can draw thousands of screaming fans to their feet.

Palacio Vistalegre, Sala Shoko, La Riviera, and Sala Heineken are also great Madrid music venues that are slightly smaller than the major stadiums but still big players on the scene. And then of course there’s every other cool little bar and club that powers the great underground music scene, from the eclectic bands that take over Sala Siroco to the funky riffs streaming out of El Junco Jazz Club to the diverse music lineups at the Moby Dick Club.

The top neighborhoods with the greatest concentration of music venue are Sol, La Latina, and Malasaña, but even swanky Chueca hosts a handful of smaller live music venues too.
