Malasaña / Chueca, Madrid –
At this hot mega-club, the bouncers in black suits and tuxedos are only slightly better dressed than the clientele inside, as Pacha draws the Malasaña neighborhood’s hippest clubbers into an unstoppable night of pulsating light and rhythm.
The line doesn’t start until 3am when patrons all show up from their pre-parties and get ready to keep the action pumping until dawn, and once past the ropes, the customers will find themselves in a multilevel world of musical madness.
Slick black couches under purple lighting surround the dance floors on the first two levels, where swarms of trendy, beautiful people groove to hip-hop and pop dance music while the sophisticated set sips Moët at reserved tables.
Up on the third floor is El Cielo (Heaven), an exclusive VIP area with another small dance floor for those that can afford the posh privilege. Those who get in will experience a more chic Pacha environment where an array of disco balls refract the spectacular lights and lasers as elite DJs unleash some of Madrid’s most high-energy house beats.
Predominately locals, though people from all over tend to drop in, 25 to 40.
Hip-hop on the first two levels, house music in El Cielo on the third level.
None.
Cover charge €15, includes one drink. Mixed drinks €10–€12, Moët €100+/bottle.
Smart club attire. Dress code: no open-toed shoes.
Weekends at 3am – the place will be empty before that.
