USC Trojans Football Info

USC Trojans Football

The USC Trojans Football team plays Division I football at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in South Central, Los Angeles. The stadium was built in 1923 and has a seating capacity of 93,607. The Trojans have been tackling opponents since 1888 and are considered one of the most successful college football teams in history. Trojans football games are incredibly competitive and the team has racked up a remarkable amount of Pac-12 championships, not to mention the 11 national titles. Famous Trojans who have run through the University of Southern Cal include Carson Palmer, Mark Sanchez, Reggie Bush, Troy Polamalu, Junior Seau, Ronnie Lott, Marcus Allen, OJ Simpson, and Matt Cassel, to name a few. Depending on the team’s success, Trojans tickets can be hard to come by, but because of the massive size of Memorial Coliseum, it’s usually possible to purchase a seat.

skylar.hardenbrook Mar 20, 2013 I'm a 2012 graduate from USC, and I have to say that one of the things that I appreciate most as an alumni is my school's football culture. You don't have to enjoy the game itself or even know anything about football to get into the school spirit that emerges every home game Saturday, with thousands of people decked out in cardinal and gold in every available space from the north side of campus all the way down to the Coliseum. In fact, you don't even need to be affiliated with USC to get hyped up from a USC football event -- just visit the swarming campus or get a ticket in the coliseum! Young and old, students and alumni, and fans from all walks of life unite thanks to Trojan football, and it doesn't hurt that we have a (generally) good team either. True, there have been disappointments and instances of being overhyped, but always being a force to reckon with in the Pacific Conference has rallied the Trojan troops even more because we all believe in our own potential. As an alumnus, I made it a point to attend every tailgate, to drink and barbecue with old friends, current students, and fellow alumni, and show love to my school. Trojan football Saturdays are definitely Los Angeles highlights of every fall. Fight on!!
Southe0321 Oct 4, 2012 I got to see Trojans absolutely demolish their rivals UCLA like 50 nothing which was honestly truly embarrassing even for me to watch. Until now I didn't really care and was more worried about parking around the area whenever the Trojans played but I have just started supporting USC because my girlfriend is from there and I am obligated to support them now. I have to say though that they have a pretty decent lineup even though they suffered a loss against Stanford this season a lot is expected. Also just to see the massive number of fans that USC manages to bring in is truly phenomenal. I was just surprised to see this since the East Coast has NFL teams so football fans can satiate their desire with both college football and NFL but USC truly benefits from not having an NFL team around here. My goal this year is to watch a few more games at the Coliseum and get in as much pre-drinking as possible followed by a decent game of football. If the Trojans can satisfy these simple demands, I will be a very happy man.
