Race for the Rescues is an annual charity event sponsored by The Rescue Train and held in October at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena as a way to increase awareness for animal rescues. The Rose Bowl is a historic stadium with seating for over 90,000 people and famous for hosting the annual BCS Rose Bowl and being the home venue for the UCLA football team.

Race for the Rescues holds competitive 10k and 5k races while also leaving the competition open to those who want to walk or race for fun, even offering a separate fun run for kids. Attractions outside of the races include Race for the Rescues silent auction, adoption show, and food trucks among others. Race for the Rescues participants have included Jane Lynch, Krysten Ritter, and Dreama Walker.

While there are no Race for the Rescues entry fees, prizes are awarded for fundraising starting at $300.
