The Los Angeles New Year’s Race (Los Angeles at Night!) takes place each year on a Saturday night in early January. With a half marathon, 5K run, and a Kids Fun Run, the LA New Year’s Race invites runners of all ages and abilities to take in the city’s iconic Downtown sights with an annual night run through LA’s historic streets.

The Los Angeles New Year’s Race starts at 7th & Grand Avenue, while the shorter Kids Fun Run starts at 11th & Hope Street. The finish line for the Half Marathon and Resolution 5K is at 11th & Hope Street. The Los Angeles at Night race is capped at 7,500 runners and features awards for the top three male and female Half Marathon runners, Resolution 5K finishers, and the top three finishers in each age group. Age groups at the Los Angeles New Year’s Race include 18 & Under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.

Registration for the Half Marathon at the Los Angeles New Year’s Race costs about $125 per person. Registration for the Resolution 5K costs about $55 a person and registration for the Kids Fun Run costs about $25. Spectators can watch at the finish line by L.A. Live in Downtown LA. Public transportation is recommended as parking Downtown at the lots near L.A. Live, which cost between $10 and $25, will be packed. After watching or taking part in the race, celebrate a win or nurse a loss at the bustling bars in Downtown LA.
