The Los Angeles Kings are a National Hockey League (NHL) team that plays games at the Staples Center in Downtown, Los Angeles. The stadium was built in 1999 and has a seating capacity of 18,118. Founded in 1967 in Los Angeles, the Kings play in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. Although not a perennial contender, Kings games are nonetheless filled with energy – especially during a winning season like their 2012 campaign when they won the Stanley Cup.
