Jun 4, 2012 — One thing is guaranteed – you’ll never be bored in LA. With so much going on, there seems to be something new to do everywhere you turn – and if you can’t figure out a way to spend your time, well…you’re just not trying hard enough!
During the day, it’s super-easy to find stuff, from flea markets, farmers’ markets, and first-class people-watching, to yoga classes, nature hikes, and even horseback riding in the Hollywood Hills. Following the tourist trail can be highly entertaining too, whether it’s getting your pic taken with Marilyn Monroe lookalikes on Hollywood Boulevard, soaking up the weirdness of the Venice Boardwalk, or buying a star map and searching for celebrity mansions.
Evenings also provide endless opportunities to throw yourself headfirst into LA’s fun culture and history, whether it’s catching a late-night cult movie screening at the Hollywood Cemetery, taking an art walk in Downtown or Culver City, partying at the karaoke bars in Koreatown, or heading to the cheap comedy shows and bopping dance venues in West Hollywood. And to top it all off, there’s the always-bustling monthly First Friday event on Venice’s hip Abbot Kinney Boulevard.
So if you’re still at a loss, try a little harder to find your niche – LA may be a big city, but it’s definitely filled with lots of small towns.
