Jun 4, 2012 —  One thing is guaranteed – you’ll never be bored in LA. With so much going on, there seems to be something new to do everywhere you turn – and if you can’t figure out a way to spend your time, well…you’re just not trying hard enough!

During the day, it’s super-easy to find stuff, from flea markets, farmers’ markets, and first-class people-watching, to yoga classes, nature hikes, and even horseback riding in the Hollywood Hills. Following the tourist trail can be highly entertaining too, whether it’s getting your pic taken with Marilyn Monroe lookalikes on Hollywood Boulevard, soaking up the weirdness of the Venice Boardwalk, or buying a star map and searching for celebrity mansions.

Evenings also provide endless opportunities to throw yourself headfirst into LA’s fun culture and history, whether it’s catching a late-night cult movie screening at the Hollywood Cemetery, taking an art walk in Downtown or Culver City, partying at the karaoke bars in Koreatown, or heading to the cheap comedy shows and bopping dance venues in West Hollywood. And to top it all off, there’s the always-bustling monthly First Friday event on Venice’s hip Abbot Kinney Boulevard.

So if you’re still at a loss, try a little harder to find your niche – LA may be a big city, but it’s definitely filled with lots of small towns.

Paul Feinstein Jul 30, 2012 I like hiking up Runyon Canyon - good workout, great view, and completely free.
sgunther Jul 27, 2012 A screening at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery is a summer must! Just remember how chilly it can get at night and dress accordingly.
Paula Peña Jul 27, 2012 This doesn't particularly fall under the category of partying but if you're looking for something free and really fun to do in LA go to www.1iota.com and get free tickets to Jimmy Kimmel or another tv show taping - when I went I got to see the LA Kings and Martin Short, and Cee-lo put on a little mini concert in the back lot.
Sara Gunther Jul 26, 2012 I love walking along the beach in Malibu and picking out my favorite gorgeous houses. The houses are crazy expensive, but the walk is free!
RedNYellowRoses Jul 26, 2012 There are so many hikes in LA! Runyon, Malibu, Hollywood Sign, Fryman Canyon, Griffith Observatory and you are bound to have great views on all of them.
nishashah Jul 26, 2012 Catch one of Cinespia's summer film screenings at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Tickets are cheap and you can save one by bringing your own food and having a picnic on the grass!
