Empire Polo Field (Indio, CA) Information

Empire Polo Field (Indio, CA) - Concert Venue | Event Space in Los Angeles.

Surrounded by palm trees and filled with a grassy landscape, the Empire Polo Field is a true desert oasis and the largest special events venue in the city of Indio.

The outdoor venue, which holds up to 50,000 people, is notorious for hosting the always sold-out Coachella Valley Music Festival since 1999. The vast grounds allow the facility to have numerous stages and simultaneous performances by countless well-known artists like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Kanye West.

Coachella’s extensive musical lineup at the Empire Polo Field attracts A-list celebrities who escape the intense desert heat while sipping cocktails in the coveted VIP areas. Next to the venue grounds is a campsite where concertgoers can choose to stay during the festival.

Other events at the Empire Polo Field include the country music festival Stagecoach and the heavy metal Big 4 Festival. Some big-name acts at the venue include David Guetta, Dr. Dre, Carrie Underwood, and Metallica.

Although this place is well known for the Coachella Valley Music Festival, it holds many other events including the StageCoach music festival as well. The area is clean and well maintained. If you are interested in going to any of the music festivals I would recommend wearing comfortable shoes, for the grounds are a lot larger than you would expect and in the heat it can get very uncomfortable. Also, it tends to get muddy in certain areas and when I was there the winds blew dust and sand everywhere making it hard to breath so be sure to bring a mask or scarf, just in case. Overall there is no other place I could imagine holding any of these music festivals and I think the polo field added to my personal Coachella experience.

Home to the Coachella Music Festival the Empire Polo Field is a magical place. It is hard to think of one with out the other, because the spacious field and surrounding mountains make the experience special. And I review the venue as it pertains to this event. Past festivals have had performances by indie bands, house Dj’s, hologram rappers, and tickets sell out quickly to a variety of music fans. From celebrities to Woodstock wannabe’s Coachella is a weekend you’ll never forget, and the Empire Polo Field is consistently the location for this wild event. They do an extremely good job of keeping the place clean during the event, even the porta-potties were decent, which is surprising when considering the amount of people, and their usual state of mind. If you like music at all you cannot miss Coachella at this venue.
COACHELLA!

Although I am reviewing the venue, I am pretty much thinking of Coachella and mainly of my experiences this past year. I car camped at Coachella and was thoroughly impressed by the level of organization and cleanliness that they maintained dispite the thousands of people there. The showers were clean, the port-a-potties were clean and for the most part bug free. I was really worried about the heat and about how disgusting the port-a-potties would be but it turned out they had a good handle on it. It is also great that they have multiple water filling stations available especially with the extreme heat. The venue is awesome albeit a bit dusty when it gets windy. And Coachella was even awesomer.
