Club Nokia Information

Club Nokia - Concert Venue in Los Angeles.

Located in downtown Los Angeles’ L.A. LIVE facility, Club Nokia is an incredible live music venue that hosts big name concerts and shows with everything from rock & roll and pop to top DJs and cultural performances.

The seating capacity at Club Nokia is 2,300, making it smaller than its sister venue, Nokia Theatre. The small space lends itself to great acoustics and allows audience members to get up close and personal with the artists. Past performers at Club Nokia include Childish Gambino, Wu-Tang Clan, Santigold, and Coldplay.

With VIP tickets, concert fans can get access to the upstairs bar and lounge area. However, the general admission seating area also has its own fully stocked bar, giving the venue its club-like atmosphere.

Club Nokia is also available to rent out for private events.

Club Nokia User Reviews

AlecMorris94 Apr 9, 2013 3.0 stars Great Venue and Sound Located in immensely busy, entertainment hub that is LA Live, Club Nokia is a great venue that remains spacious as well as intimate. Having seen 2 EDM shows here (Flosstradamus and UZ), I would say this is one of my favorite venues for such genre in Los Angeles. The VIP pit is situated right beneath the DJ set and a lot of fun if you can get in there. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending who you are) the security is lackluster and it was very easy for GA ticket holders to jump over a railing to get into the VIP pit (security either didn't notice or didn't care). Despite the unprofessionalism I thoroughly enjoyed myself on both occasion, and it most be noted that Club Nokia's sound system is ideal for bass-heavy trap music.
amannijjar Mar 26, 2013 4.0 stars Great! I got the opportunity to perform at club nokia. I would say it’s a great venue for any event. I did not know what to expect at first since it was new but now i know this was a great investment in Los Angeles. If you ever get the chance to go to an event here you should take it at least once and experience it. This place is different and unique in its own way. The venue is made in such a way that everyone enjoys and is amazed by it. If you don’t walk in and say wow then you definitely haven’t walked into club nokia. Definitely worth it
Les Serrano Mar 22, 2013 4.0 stars Great Place! I've gone to Club Nokia for some concerts and I would say that it is a great venue! With Staples center across the street from it and tons of restaurants and the Congo Room right next door it is a fun place to go for a concert, have some dinner and walk around. As for concerts it is actually a great venue because it is not too big where there are horrible seats and the performer looks like a tiny ant, most seats have a decent view but then again I sat towards the back of the orchestra section for one of the concerts I attended.
Camille Hack Mar 5, 2013 4.0 stars Great night at Club Nokia! I was just at Club Nokia this past Wednesday to see Flosstradamus and a couple of other DJs and had an awesome time! The venue is a really cool set up, and the sound is absolutely amazing! It is clear, crisp, and loud!! Great acoustics! I don't go to see EDM music that often, but this was one of the best concerts I've been to! There was plenty of room to dance and move around, and you could see the stage from virtually anywhere in the club! Not to mention, no matter where you were, the sound was still incredible! There were places to dance and get crazy, but also places to relax a little more and just enjoy the show! Definitely going back to this venue soon!
Naomi Yiu Feb 28, 2013 4.0 stars A Night To Remember I went to Club Nokia for the first time last night to see Flosstradamus, AraabMuzik and others perform. I can honestly say it was one of the best shows I've been to, not just because of the music but also because the music was performed at such an ideal venue. You get to pick what kind of experience you want at the club because you can either go up to the third floor to lounge on the couches, or the second floor for a balcony view of the stage, which is more mellow and relaxed compared to the first floor, where you can dance the night away in the pit right in front of the stage. With such intimacy, you really feel at one with the music, especially since the volume is just loud and clear enough. There are also bars situated on every floor for your convenience. If you need a quick breath of fresh air or a smoke, you can go outside to the vast patio on the first floor. Because of Club Nokia's prime location in LA Live, you can even grab dinner at one of the best restaurants in LA, including Katsuya, YardHouse or Wolfgang Puck before heading into a show. I plan on doing just that next time I go to Club Nokia, which will definitely be soon.
Demetrius Wade Feb 14, 2013 4.0 stars Intimacy+ Convenience = Club Nokia Without a doubt, Club Nokia represents the best of both worlds, as far as the budget conscious concert-goer and the more financially fortunate concert-goer are concerned. For those with more price flexibility, the venue has balcony seating, and for those looking to keep price points down, the venue has the option of purchasing a “standing room only” ticket. Designated for the first story of the venue, “standing-room only” tickets are great for dancing and vibing with friends, allowing everyone to get as close to the stage as their fellow concert goers will allow; however, for an increase in price, one can opt for the more formal balcony seating. Located on the second story of the venue, these seats are assigned, with drink orders periodically taken directly from your seat. This allows for a more laid back viewing environment. Additionally, the balcony boasts a secluded bar/restaurant that streams footage from the stage to keep viewers in the loop. As much expected, celebrity clientele prefer this type of intimacy and convenience. Although it’s a rare, intimate find in the LA area, Club Nokia is supremely located, situated within an earshot of bowling, dining, and various other popular activities. With an abundance of pay parking and a short walk to public transit stops, there are certainly no issues with travel, rounding out its complete convenience package. In all, Club Nokia is a fantastic venue for someone looking for a hip night on the town that still allows for intimacy and convenience. It provides a truly memorable experience.
Ana Sessions Nov 30, 2012 3.0 stars Good size I like the size of the venue because I don't feel too overwhelmed. I saw Rusko here and had a great time because even though it was dark and crowded, the proximity to USC and the perfect size of the venue ensured I ran into a lot of my friends which made the event that much more enjoyable. It is easier to get closer to the performer than at other larger venues, and the lighting is really good. Restaurants and LA live are right there, but I would recommend walking if you are a USC student to avoid parking and parking fees. I've done it and it is only like a little over a mile.
krakow Nov 30, 2012 2.0 stars Alright This venue is significantly smaller than Staples so you're closer to the performers, and the tickets usually cost less as well. However, for many general admission type concerts, there is not enough standing space, so you have to stand in the rows and your group has to awkwardly stretch out. If you are going to a concert like that, be sure to get there extra early so that you can have a good spot...which is a bummer because it takes time. The music quality is amplified poorly as well. The Nokia Center does have a good location and there's alot going on outside of it. There are also very good resturaunts close to it. Parking is horrible.
Maddy Lansky Nov 28, 2012 3.0 stars cool venue This is a cool venue to see a show. Make sure to try to get tickets on the lower level or on the floor--third level seats just aren't the same for most shows. The location is very convenient. There are always a ton of cabs around LA Live, and the metro runs right by.
elbel51 Nov 28, 2012 3.0 stars a great club in LA Live Club Nokia is one of the best in LA I think. It's right in LA Live which is a prime location. There are tons of places to eat and enjoy a few drinks before heading to the club. There are bars and great restaurants surrounding you. There are also great DJ's that come and play at Club Nokia like Rusko, and others. Just being in LA Live makes it such a fun place to go, and with such great DJ's why would you want to skip out? It's right next to ESPN Zone and Staples Center, so you can go see a Lakers game and then after head over to Club Nokia! I would definitely suggest going to Club Nokia
Joseph Lapin Nov 28, 2012 3.0 stars Club Nokia is Live in LA In the center of LA Live on West Olympic Blvd., Club Nokia is surrounded by the ESPN Zone, Staples Center, and several restaurants and bars worthy of your hard-earned money. I'm tempted to recommend Club Nokia solely on its proximity to one of the most happening sections in the city of angels. But there is much more to Club Nokia than the stops along the way. The first time I went to Club Nokia I saw Flying Lotus and Adrian Younge. It was the last stop on FlyLo's U.S. Tour, and the place was packed. For such incredible performers, the intimacy of Club Nokia gave the audience an opportunity to feel connected and immersed in the music. The best part about FlyLo's performance was the sound and the lighting. Sometimes, the bass was so heavy, it felt like the intensity of the lows would just break someone in half. My one complaint about the performance was that the sound was significantly better for Flying Lotus than Adrian Younge and the Venice Dawns. I love the way the venue is broken down. There are two stories, and the first floor has a pit with standing room only. Everyone dances and moshes there, but if you're the type of concert goer who wants something more mellow, then the balcony is for you. Upstairs, the seats are comfortable and some even have cup holders. And you're really not missing much in terms of view. I plan on returning to Club Nokia many times, and the diversity of musicians is another reason to keep coming back. You'll see anyone from Erykah Badu to Chris Isaak.
Melissa Bobbitt Nov 4, 2012 3.0 stars A hidden Downtown gem I'd been to the Big Daddy Nokia Theatre a couple of times but was en route this weekend to its clubby kin for Alanis Morissette's gig. What a pleasant surprise this tucked-away, intimate yet sassy venue was! Everyone from the bouncers to the bartenders were polite and polished. The acoustics of the club were ideal - encapsulating and warm without leaving a ring in the ears. My only complaint would be the inconvenient pillars in the middle of the general admission floor, blocking what would otherwise be a perfect panoramic view of the stage. My first visit to Club Nokia will not be my last. That cozy yet hip vibe is an ace addition to the LA Live complex.
peachysaralynn Oct 29, 2012 4.0 stars Hip & happening. Club Nokia is one of the most fun concert venues I've been to in LA, with ample dancing space so you can rock out to your favorite artists. The sound system is great and the volume is loud enough to hit the spot. In between sets, the house dj spins dance-y tunes so you don't have to stand around awkwardly while waiting for the next artist... unless you need to catch your breath, in which case you can head over to the bar and mingle with the other concertgoers. The venue also does a spectacular job with lighting and special effects, so it truly does feel like a club environment. If you like to people-watch, you can always stay and play before (and even after) your concert or event: the venue is right in the middle of the new and hip LA Live area, which is filled with restaurants, bars, and even a movie theater and bowling alley. Expect to see tons of interesting and beautiful people—LA is known for its diversity and this area is always buzzing.
Daniel B Oct 18, 2012 2.0 stars Downtown Club With Decent Sound Club Nokia is one of Downtown's handful of music venues that features everyone from Syd Tha Kid to Josh Turner. With just three slightly varied levels, big columns blocking the view from multiple angles, and an obnoxiously large soundbooth, the floor is clearly designed for dancing over watching. The club-like atmosphere makes sense for some of the electronic acts that come through, but you'd think that with such a small space and such a big soundbooth that the tones would be crisp and clear. Unfortunately, at a recent SBTRKT show, the sound was a bit muddled, which is a pretty bad screw up given that it's just a two-man act and most of the sounds are plugged in direct. But if you're looking more for a place to dance and meet people, and aren't such a stickler for sound, Club Nokia makes for a fun night out.
Kira Abe Sep 27, 2012 3.0 stars Glam nights and fun times Club Nokia is one of those great multi-level venues that allows you as the guest to decide how you want to spend your night. Will it be down in the general admission area, dancing your butt off and sweating up a storm? Or up in the balcony seating area where you can view the show from above? Or even chilling in the VIP lounge on the 3rd floor that has a huge bar and great couch seating? Club Nokia is also in one of the best locations a club can be in, LALive. There are tons of dining options and ample parking so you can have a full night out complete with dinner and a show! I really enjoyed seeing Rusko perform at Nokia and I would definitely go again.
Chad Freet Sep 14, 2012 3.0 stars Casual and Intimate I've seen a few shows at the Club Nokia...it's a great venue that straddles the line between small and tiny, but that sorta adds to the intimate setting and makes any show you see here all the more special. They do a good job with the bar too...it didn't take long to get a drink and they had a great variety of booze. And parking at LA Live is really easy to get in and out of, which is surprising for that area of town. I had the pleasure of going to see the "Pee-wee's Playhouse" show at the Club Nokia a few years ago and it was awesome....it felt more like a local performance stage and less like a big theater. Paul Reubens came out and spoke to the audience afterwards, met everybody, and answered questions. I was really glad that the venue was smallish...it made the night all the more special and cool.
Tom Wagner Aug 21, 2012 3.0 stars A hip LA live entertainment venue Club Nokia hits the sweet spot between small, often uncomfortably packed live music bars and cavernous performance halls. Spacious without alienating, this contemporary venue combines welcome amenities -- such as excellent climate control, modern lighting, a thunderous yet pain-free sound system, clean restrooms and a classy, long bar -- with a tiered floor design that softly arcs around the main floor, ensuring that fans enjoy an intimate evening with their chosen acts. Anywhere you choose to stand as a General Admission guest, excellent vantage points await; quite literally, there isn't a bad "seat" in the house. Guitar Center's Battle of the Blues finale hosted by Joe Bonamassa this past Saturday was epic. Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame legend Dr. John kicked off the festivities with a 45-minute concert covering many of his hits, such as "Right Place, Wrong Time", followed by the six blues guitar finalists and capped off with a full concert starring Joe Bonamassa. Everything was fantastic, from the lights to the flow of the event to the monster sound. I will never forget Joe playing "Mountain Time" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFlMB9Mxt8M). His guitar resounded throughout Club Nokia -- occasionally resembling an electrified pipe organ through Joe's deft handling of his guitar, peddle effects and volume control -- and his passionate vocals simply exploded off the stage. The experience gave me chills, largely due to Club Nokia's fantastic set-up. In addition to the excellent club design and layout, the security process to access Club Nokia -- located atop the Lucky Strike bowling alley in the happening L.A. Live complex -- is very efficient. Professional staff expedite the flow of traffic for a hassle-free experience. Plus, ample parking in and around the L.A. Live complex makes everything so convenient. In fact, just a block away, you can often park on the streets next to parking lots that only charge a $10 flat fee, which is quite reasonable. However, drinks are a bit on the pricey side. For example, the beer selection ranges from Pabst Blue Ribbon in cans to Sierra Nevada bottles poured into plastic cups and both are $8, which certainly makes the latter a much better value, provided you can alter your sensibilities to see it in that light. Regardless, you will definitely enjoy the experience at Club Nokia. It's a hip, intimate live performance venue serving the Los Angeles music scene.
