If you’re looking for a little live music in LA, you won’t have to search very far thanks to the fact that this city is packed with hundred of live music venues – from massive arenas to dark and dingy subterranean dens.
Music venues in Los Angeles have songs written about them, for Pete’s sake! The Viper Room, The House of Blues, The Troubadour, Echoplex, Satellite (formerly Spaceland), and The Roxy are a handful that come to mind, most of which are familiar even to people who’ve never stepped into an LA music venue.
A trip to the Hollywood Bowl is always a grand adventure, as this beautiful stadium has been thrilling thousands for nearly a century in some form or another. The Bowl’s bucolic natural surroundings are only slightly more enchanting than The Greek Theater tucked inside Griffith Park, and both are obvious stalwarts when it comes to Los Angeles music venues.
In more recent times, Downtown’s resurgence has brought in Club Nokia and the Staples Center, two massive music venues that host the biggest bands on the planet, and all of these venues ensure that every type of music imaginable can be found live in LA: metal, rap, hip-hop, rock, classical, interpretive noise, whatever!
Still not worn out? There’s also The Music Box, The Hollywood Palladium, or the stunning Walt Disney Concert Hall, not to mention The Key Club and The Wiltern for added measure. Heck, there are so many live music venues in LA they should rename the city! Welcome to Los Live Music Venues, kids. Tickets please!
